On Monday, November 12th, I will be offering free dental services to ANY veteran! If you know a veteran who may be interested, PLEASE have them call 740-548-5100 to schedule a free appointment for that day.
I speak to hundreds of elementary and preschool students every year about their oral health. My favorite part of these visits is the Question and Answer portion. I ask questions like, “How many times a day should you brush your teeth?” and “What are some drinks that are bad for your teeth?” In response to my question about unhealthy drinks, “pop” or “soda” is always the first answer. Sometimes I’ll hear “juice” or “chocolate milk”. Then, I tell students that sports drinks have almost as much sugar as soft drinks. At times, the teachers look just as surprised as the students.
Every day has the opportunity to be Remarkable. Creating these days is purposeful and takes plenty of hard work. Setting goals, staying focused, living healthy and treating others with kindness has allowed me to experience Remarkable Thursdays.
As a dental officer in the Navy, it was the greatest honor of my life to serve the Marines and Sailors at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. After choosing to settle with my family in Lewis Center and start a dental practice, I wanted to continue this service in whatever way possible. In addition to the many community events I support, I focus much of my philanthropy on local veteran-related organizations.
Two men face each other in the center of a 42 foot circle in front of 20,000 people in a packed arena. After a lifetime of hard work, in seven minutes or less one man's hand will be raised and he will be declared a national wrestling champion.
Simon Sinek’s groundbreaking book “Start With Why” has been a source of inspiration to me since before I even opened Moore Dental at Lewis Center. Toward the end of my Navy career, it helped me define why I wanted to start a dental practice. I recently revisited his motivational and challenging book again in order to create our Patient Promise.
A wood frog lies within a wintry forest in Ohio. The frog's body is frozen solid. It doesn't move a muscle for months at a time and would appear dead to the naked eye. Spring's rays reach the frog and the ice begins to melt away. The frog eventually thaws, hops away and joins the rest of Ohio's forest creatures just in time for mating season.....
You can now visit the Store tab on our website to view and purchase all the products I recommend for our patients. Not only is this convenient, but Amazon actually sells these items for less than I can get them directly from the supplier AND the list contains all Amazon Prime items. I am excited to share all of my favorite products with our patients in one convenient webpage!
Sitting in the same classroom. For 11 hours each day. For five straight days. Learning about teeth. It probably sounds like torture to most people, but the five days I spent in a classroom in Seattle last October changed the way I’ll look at teeth forever.
Loud hallways, hundreds of bustling students, a classroom full of strangers, a new teacher at the front of class. Anxiety, the unknown. We all remember that feeling we had on the first day of school. For most young children, a first visit to the dental office can have that same anxious feeling. Luckily, I love seeing children at Moore Dental and my team has many ways to reduce the anxiety some children might feel at the dental office.
