The National Veterans Memorial and Museum stands as a twisting, cylindrical monument to those who have served on the banks of the Scioto River. Inside, a series of displays depict the challenges, sacrifices and achievements throughout a service member’s military career. A corresponding timeline of our country’s military history parallels these displays with historical artifacts and images. Finally, the museum climbs to the Remembrance Gallery in the mezzanine. This beautiful space is meant for reflection of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
On Sunday, April 7th, I am hosting the first annual Lewis Center Honor Ride. Twenty veterans and twenty of their guests will be provided a meal, transportation and admission to the National Veterans Memorial and Museum in downtown Columbus. Panera Bread is providing the meals and serving as the meeting site for our event. The Ride, a local, veteran-owned business, and Stoner Periodontal and Implant Specialists are providing the transportation to and from the museum. I plan on having the National Anthem played and our nation’s colors presented as a small ceremony for the veterans before they board the buses.
As a springtime compliment to our Veterans Appreciation Day of free dental services in November, I am excited to launch the Lewis Center Honor Ride this year. As Moore Dental at Lewis Center continues to grow, I vow to find more ways to support local veterans in our community. If you know a veteran who may be interested in this event, please have them call 740-919-9238 or e-mail us at info@MooreDentalLewisCenter.com to reserve a spot before they fill. I can think of no better use of my abilities than to honor those in Lewis Center and Delaware County who have served our country.
Cheers to dental health,
Dr. Cliff Moore
